PTA - PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION

Parents are most welcome to become involved in helping the school and the children through the medium of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). The PTA has an elected committee of parents representing children of all ages. All parents are automatically members of the PTA as soon as their child attends the school.

Whilst the PTA can provide a channel for parents to express to the school their ideas or concerns, that is not its main function. It is principally involved with organising and helping to run events for the children such as Halloween, Christmas parties and the like, and from time to time social events at which parents are able to meet one another. Some fund-raising is carried out in order to pay for these occasions and any spare money may be used to buy small extras which would directly benefit the children at school.

BISB INTERNATIONAL DAY
April 2005

The BISB held its annual International Day on Saturday 30 April and what a great day it was!

This year we had 23 countries represented with lots of different food for everyone to taste, as well as facepainting, crafts and games for the children. The sun was shinning and everyone seemed to be having a wonderful day.

As well as all that fun, the PTA raised approx. €940 which will go towards the adventure playground equipment, that we are hoping to buy soon.

The PTA would like to THANK everyone involved int his year's wonderful International Day.
