Friends of BISB
Parents and former pupils are most welcome to become involved in supporting the school through the medium of the Friends of BISB.
“A very large majority of the parents who responded to the pre-inspection questionnaire were very satisfied with all aspects of the school’s provision and, in particular, the range of experiences and subjects offered, their children’s progress, including in learning English, and the management of the school”.
We recognise the important contribution that parents can make to their child’s education and therefore all of our parents are very welcome to become involved in the school. We welcome help from volunteer parents in many different ways, e.g. listening to reading, helping with school trips, swimming, charity cake sales and outings to theatres.
The school, in conjunction with parents, organises many social activities throughout the year e.g. weekly coffee mornings, mother and toddler meetings, craft and coffee mornings, Walks in the Woods, Sponsored Swims, Autumn and Diwali events, Carols by Torchlight, International Day, Sausage Sizzle to name but a few. We are also always happy to receive suggestions for new events.
All of our events are principally social with an aim of raising money to support either local or charities overseas. Any spare money may be used to buy small extras which directly benefit the children of BISB as well as finance future Friends of BISB activities.
