This has been a mixed week weather wise, it has been cooler which has been very welcome, but the badminton club on Tuesday was disturbed by a thunderstorm. The children all came to school with various stories about the storms over the weekend, some were excited about them and some were afraid!

Congratulations to Mrs Davies who was very grateful for the cooler weather as she completed the Brussels 20km run on Sunday, although she will add she walked rather than ran but this was still very commendable.

For the next two weeks we are welcoming Herr Shamsi to the Oak building. He is a student from Thomas Moore University, and he is studying the teaching of languages. Life is a continuous learning journey that we are all on, and hosting students in school brings a wealth of different knowledge and ideas to both our staff and students and I welcome the contributions they offer.

The Junior children enjoyed a book swap café this week where they discussed books they have read over a drink and a biscuit. A bit like our Friday coffee mornings!

We will be celebrating coming closer to the end of this school year with a Summer Festival on Saturday June 20th. This will be an afternoon gathering where the children can do some crafts, enjoy face painting and play games while parents chat. There will be traditional English scones and jam to eat. Everyone is welcome to come along to our Acorn building.

The buzz in both buildings continues as the children are preparing for their summer shows. They are working hard on creating the backgrounds and props assisted by their class teachers and Madame Kowalska. Ms Di Fine is working with them on the music which sounds lovely so be prepared for great shows which have become a real BISB tradition.

The Year 1 and 2 children enjoyed being back in the swimming pool on Wednesday. They have 3 more swimming sessions left this year.

Our final Open Day for prospective parents this year will take place on Saturday June 13th between 10.00 and 14.00. If you know of another family that is looking for a school place for 2026/27 then please invite them to come along to the Open Day on Saturday.
