Thank you for coming along to the Parent- Teacher meeting today, it is always a pleasure to meet with parents to share your child’s educational journey and to find ways that we can support each other to enrich their experiences.

We have had a wonderful Pumpkin Week in school and both buildings had very colourful and interesting displays so thank you to all you parents who helped your children find a pumpkin. There have been many activities going on throughout the school all week based on Pumpkins and Autumn and we finished the week with pumpkin soup and bread. The Junior children had a lovely afternoon doing activities organised by the school council to raise money for a playground project. They were having a lot of fun when I called in this afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a very enjoyable Walk in the Woods last Sunday. The weather was kind and everyone had a good time. The highlights were Ms De Fine’s dog Baldo who turned up to walk and the shepherd with his sheepdogs rounding up the sheep.

During the next school holiday, the Tech and Play team will be running a holiday camp at BISB during the second week from 26th October to 30th October. Here is the link to the registration page on their website https://www.mytechnplay.com/holiday-camps-in-brussels

After the break at the Friday coffee gathering I am planning to have a discussion session once a month on a topic that is relevant to our children and I will invite some members of staff to join in these discussions. I would like to encourage everyone to come along to the coffee afternoons as they are a great way to meet other parents in a relaxed setting.

Please sign up for our Christmas Market family trip to the Aachen Christmas market on Saturday November 28th. If we do not get a few more families to register the trip will not go ahead as I do need to sell enough seats to cover the cost of the bus, so if you have friends and colleagues who are not part of BISB you are welcome to bring them along.

We plan to leave from Square Plasky at 9am and aim to return to Square Plasky at 6.30pm which will give everyone plenty of time to wander around the market and Aachen. It will cost 35 euros per seat, which includes the return travel, the parking and a tip for the driver. The coach has 50 seats so it will be “first come first served”, so if you would like to join the trip please email me at headteacher@bisb.org saying how many people will be in your group.

School starts again on Monday November 2nd, with doors opening at 8.30am so don’t be late!

Dates to remember

Thursday 15th October End of Term for children.

Friday 16th October Parents meetings (no school for children)
