We come to the end of what has been another amazing year in the life of BISB. As I look back at the year our children have all enjoyed, they have all had the most diverse range of experiences which have all contributed to their rich learning journey. I would like to thank all the staff who have all worked very hard all year and also thank you the parents for your support. Education is a partnership and we all play a part in our children’s learning.
Today started with our final coffee morning this year. Thank you to everyone who has come along on a Friday morning and joined in to help make the Friday coffee mornings such and enjoyable start to the day. I have really enjoyed them and I hope you have too. Here are a few photographs of coffee mornings over the year.
This week we enjoyed the Early Years show which was delightful. Our youngest children were dressed as minibeasts and performed amazingly well for everyone. When you are very young it is quite daunting to sing and dance with all the parents looking at you. We have had three fantastic shows this summer so a big thank you to all our staff for their hard work putting these shows together.
The Junior Department children began the week creating culinary delicacies using the potatoes they grew and tended over the last few months. The grand total was 150 potatoes.
The rest of the week has been action packed with class picnics at Georges Henri park, sports days in the Acorn building and Cinquantinaire park for the Juniors, water fun and many other activities. Please look at your child’s Classlist to see photographs.
Tech and Play have asked that we share a small survey with you to suggest ideas for after school clubs that they provide. Please find the link here.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the kind gifts that I have received in the last week. It is not possible to see you all to thank you personally, but I do appreciate all the kind gifts, messages and cards.

As we come to the end of the year it is always sad to say goodbye to some people who are leaving and moving on to new opportunities. One thing in life that is certain is change but with change comes new opportunities and experiences. I hope that all those who are leaving will come back and visit us at some time.
The school office will contactable throughout the summer break by email or telephone. T: 027368981 or schooloffice@bisb.org
My thought for the end of the year reflects the young people in our school who happily skip into school every day:

It just remains for me to wish everyone a joyful summer break and happy travels.
