Family Summer Festival

The weeks continue to fly past, and I can’t believe we only have three weeks left in this academic year. The weather continues to be very changeable with yet another storm during Tuesday’s badminton club! They did some yoga and managed some badminton after it cleared up. Even though it is cold and rainy today, next week promises to be hot again so get out your sunscreen and shorts. I enjoyed the coffee morning this morning; it was good to chat with you all again after we missed last week.

We will be celebrating the coming to the end of this year with a Family Summer Festival on Saturday June 20th from 2pm - 4pm This will be an afternoon gathering where the children can do some crafts, enjoy face painting and play games, while parents have time to chat to each other. There will be traditional English scones and jam to eat. Everyone is welcome to come along and help us celebrate the end of another school year. The weather looks as though it is going to be very warm and sunny.

I sat in on the German lesson this week that Year 5 and 6 had with Herr Shamsi and I was really impressed with their understanding, after only a couple of lessons. It is always enriching to have students and interns as guests in school as they bring new ideas and experiences with them to share.

This week sees the start of the FIFA world cup tournament, which has inspired this week’s Infant assembly that was all about teamwork and how we are stronger working as a team. Some of the children will be following the World Cup results. All the children in the Junior department have a country to follow through the tournament. I got Belgium as my team, so I will be supporting The Red Devils!

The buzz in both buildings continues as the children are preparing for their summer shows. They are working hard on creating the backgrounds and props assisted by their class teachers and Madame Kowalska. Ms Di Fine is working with them on the music which sounds lovely, so be prepared for great shows which have become a real BISB tradition.

Year 3 had a very enjoyable visit to the  Tutankhamun Immersive Experience in Brussels this week which was a fascinating way to finish off all their work on the Egyptians.

Our final Open Day this year will take place tomorrow, Saturday June 13th between 10am and 2pm. Please encourage anyone you know who is looking for a school place to come along to the Open Day. Anyone is welcome to come along even if they don’t have an appointment.
