This has been a shorter week than normal but a very hot one! The weather seems to be becoming more erratic and unpredictable as next week is forecast to be relatively cool and the weekend looks to be stormy! Thank you to everyone for making sure that their child had plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat.
The coffee morning today was another very enjoyable gathering where we learnt from each other about different types of tea, and it was amusing to hear different people's approach to new foods! I enjoy meeting with you on a Friday morning and I would encourage others to come along especially if you are new to BISB, as it’s a great way to meet new friends in a relaxed friendly atmosphere.
There is a real buzz in both buildings as the children are preparing for their summer shows. They are working hard on creating the backgrounds and props assisted by their class teachers and Madame Kowalska. Ms Di Fine is working with them on the music which sounds lovely so be prepared for great shows which have become a real BISB tradition.
There will be swimming next Wednesday for the Year 1 and 2 classes, after the NATO pool was unavailable in the week just gone. They have 4 sessions left this term.
Today our Junior Department footballers went off to take part in an inter-schools football tournament and although they didn’t win they had a good time, and Mrs Bounds was very proud of their behaviour and good sportsmanship. Well done to everyone including Mrs Bounds and Ms Gonzalez for coping so well with the heat. A big thank you to Dhev's dad for being their coach and helping them to prepare for the day.

The rest of the Junior department children spent the day in the Acorn building where they designed 'The Perfect Playground' which they showed to our younger children in Assembly, along with advice and guidelines about how to behave in the playground so that everyone has fun! It was lovely to see how well and caring our older children were with the younger classes. The Junior children ended the day with a quiz in which they demonstrated impressive general knowledge.
There have also been assessments during the week and also the reading results that I have seen have been very impressive. Well done everyone!
Please do look at the Classlist posts from your child’s teacher as they always post many photographs for you to see, which show what the children have been doing in school.
