LinkedIn page & Jane Goodall workshops
Another Friday has come around remarkably quickly and after another hot midweek spell next week looks to be rainy so please make sure your children bring a coat with them to school.
There continue to be many items of clothing left behind after school. Please make sure that all your children’s clothing is named. We can return lost items to the correct owner if there is a name in it, but otherwise it is likely to be lost and you may not get it back.
We will be having an Open Day on Saturday October 10th for families looking for a school to come and visit BISB. Please encourage people you know who are seeking a school place to come and look around.
This week our Junior department enjoyed very informative and interesting workshops given by a representative of the Jane Goodall Institute. These workshops, delivered by passionate experts, enrich our children’s learning and experiences.
During the next school holiday, the Tech and Play team will be running a holiday camp at BISB during the second week from 26th October to 30th October. Here is the link to the registration page on their website https://www.mytechnplay.com/holiday-camps-in-brussels
Today was the first Friday Coffee Afternoon which I will be holding every week. This will be from 2.15pm until school pickup time. I am planning to have a discussion session once a month on a topic that is relevant to our children and I will invite some members of staff to join in these discussions. I will announce the first discussion topic after the holiday.
I am organising a family day trip to the Aachen Christmas market on Saturday November 28th. We plan to leave from Square Plasky at 9am and aim to return to Square Plasky at 6.30pm which will give everyone plenty of time to wander around the market and Aachen. It will cost 35 euros per seat, which includes the return travel, the parking and a tip for the driver. The coach has 50 seats so it will be “first come first served”, so if you would like to join the trip please email me at headteacher@bisb.org saying how many people will be in your group. In order for the trip to go ahead we need to fill the bus, so if you have friends and colleagues who are not part of BISB you are welcome to bring them along. I have already had some families signing up but there are still some seats available.
Pumpkin week is coming up and everyone is invited to bring a pumpkin to add to the display. There are many different types of pumpkins at this time of the year so we want to see the most original that you can find, pretty, ugly, unusual, big, small etc. Please do not carve them as we want to appreciate their natural beauty. The carved ones go rotten and smelly very quickly.
We are posting on the school’s LinkedIn page so please do take a look and like/share the posts so that we can bring more attention to our wonderful school.
