We finished this week with a very wet and windy Friday but we had a lively coffee morning today, discussing various topics so the rain didn’t seem so bad! Thank you to everyone who came along and I hope you enjoyed the gathering as much as I did.

The children from the Junior department did not go out to the park today for activities because of the weather but they took the time to get started on their potato planting. This was very successful last year so let’s hope they can grow even more potatoes this year! Watch this space!

Next Friday March 20th the children in the Junior department in the Oak building will be having a book swap. This is a good way to share books and for the children to access different books without having to buy them. Details will be sent out next week.

We have received details of a guitar teacher who gives private individual lessons. If you are interested, then please send an email to the school office.

We will be holding another Open Day on Saturday April 11th for families who are looking for school places. Thank you to all those families who have already indicated that they might be leaving at the end of this school year but are still hoping to continue their time in Brussels and thus be able to continue at BISB. If you do find out that you are in fact staying, then please let us know immediately, as some classes are already projected to be full for 2026/27. We will do our best to prioritise an available school place for you if your hopes of remaining are realised.

The photographer came to school on Monday this week and took both group and individual photographs of all the children. We will send them home to you as soon as we receive them and then you can choose how many you would like to order.

The Junior department will be going on their week-long residential trip to the Belgian coast at the end of March. You should all have returned the forms to school by now but if you haven’t, please do so as soon as possible. Mr Prescott has created a Classlist group for the Residential week to which parents from the Junior department have already been added so it should appear on your home page. Let us know if you have any problem accessing it. Parents from other classes who would like to follow the activities are also welcome to join.

The next family Walk in the Woods will be on Sunday March 22nd starting at 2pm in the forest at Tervuren. The 44 tram ride out to Tervuren is very picturesque so it makes a lovely afternoon out. To finish off the walk we will have an egg hunt, so it promises to be a fun day out to which everyone is welcome.

This year our end of year celebration will be a Summer Festival on Saturday June 20th in the afternoon. This will be held in the Acorn playground and there will be crafts and summer activities for the children to take part in and it will be a good way to come together and celebrate the year.
