The past few weeks have been full of energy and creativity across the school, and as we look ahead, there is even more for our children to enjoy and explore.

Next week we’ll be celebrating STEAM Week, with children taking part in daily workshops across Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths. They’ll be exploring new ideas, experimenting, and learning with different teachers throughout the week. Everything will come together on Friday 13th, when children from Year 1 to Year 6 will present their science projects to parents in the afternoon.

Friday 13th will also see the School Council hosting a special bake sale in the Oak department as part of the National Year of Reading. The theme, “Love Books: Valentine’s Café”, brings together two favourites: stories and sweet treats. All proceeds will go towards purchasing new books for our library.

As part of the National Year of Reading, some of our Junior children have been sending in photographs of themselves reading in unusual places. We’ve received everything from bathtub reading nooks to washing‑machine hideouts and high‑shelf perches. The creativity has been fantastic — but please do keep safety in mind as you hunt for the next imaginative reading spot.

We were delighted to welcome families to our Open Day on 7th February, which was a great success. We are already receiving applications for the next school year, so if you know anyone considering BISB, please encourage them to apply soon while places remain available. We look forward to meeting more prospective families in the coming weeks.

The Reception children presented their 100th day projects that they had completed at home and so

another 'Well done' to the Reception parents for working with their children on some very original ideas.

And finally my thought for the week comes from Albert Einstein
