At the British International School of Brussels (BISB), we pride ourselves on fostering meaningful collaborations that inspire innovation in education. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting the postgraduate international teacher team from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences for a memorable school visit. It was a wonderful opportunity to share our practices, celebrate our vibrant community, and exchange ideas with passionate educators committed to global learning.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to the Thomas More team for their enthusiasm and engagement during the visit. It was a privilege to showcase our unique learning environment, including the historic Acorn art deco building and our innovative Oak department. Our visitors explored functional spaces designed for optimal learning, such as our welcoming libraries and outdoor play areas, which are integral to fostering creativity and exploration for our students.

The Thomas More teachers experienced first-hand the spirit of BISB. They joined Ms. Halvorsen’s language class, where students proudly sang about the seasons in French, and observed lessons across various disciplines, including primary education, English as an Additional Language (EAL), and Physical Education (PE) in our Early Years (EY) program. We were thrilled to see their active participation as they assisted our 6th-grade students with a history and literacy project on Greek pottery art.

What made this visit particularly special was the opportunity to highlight our commitment to global education. As a proud participant in The Global Schools Program, BISB is dedicated to nurturing cross-cultural understanding and empowering students to become active global citizens. This visit was a celebration of shared values—bringing together educators who are equally passionate about shaping the future through inclusive, innovative, and child-focused education.

Our students were equally inspired by the interaction, gaining insights from the visiting educators and learning about different approaches to teaching and learning. The visit reinforced the importance of collaboration in enriching the educational journey for both teachers and students.

We thank Thomas More University for choosing BISB as a partner in their teacher training journey. We look forward to continued collaboration as we collectively strive to raise the bar in international education. Together, we are shaping the leaders of tomorrow and nurturing a global perspective in the hearts and minds of young learners.
