STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Week at BISB highlights the growing role of educational technology (EdTech) in modern learning. At BISB, we integrate hands on as well as digital projects to enhance student engagement, particularly in STEAM subjects. These innovations allow students to explore concepts dynamically, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
EdTech and STEAM Learning at BISB leverages cutting-edge technology to enrich the educational experience. Coding platforms, and robotics workshops provide students with hands-on experiences that bridge theory and practice. These tools not only personalize learning but also encourage creativity and independent exploration. At the same time we explore the same concepts with our youngest learners by exploring chromatography with ink and coffee filters, production of bubbles with different materials, creation of marble mazes using playdough and much more.
"If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow."
During this week students engaged in workshops delievered by all the teachers to each of our different classes (Early Years through Year 6). Yes, that is right! we had our Year 6 teacher teaching the concept of bridges to our Early Years students! Across the entire school topics such as chromatography, spaghetti towers, bridges, bubbles, paper airplanes, Beebots and Microbytes (coding), and DNA extraction from various fruits were differentiated for each age group. One workshop even taught the students to turn a banana into a keyboard!

Th future of STEAM education at BISB is strong with an all-school approach to STEAM Week, Coding and Robotics Clubs and Stages with our partners Tech&Play. By balancing technology with traditional learning, students gain the best of both worlds—personalized education alongside fundamental skills development.
As John Dewey wisely stated, “If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.” BISB’s commitment to innovation ensures that students are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future, making STEAM Week a celebration of progress and discovery.

A special congratulations to the amazing BISB staff who have made this highly interactive environment possible. Their dedication and effort have created a dynamic and engaging STEAM Week, inspiring students and fostering a love for learning that will last well beyond the classroom."
