Parents are a key element in our school community, and their support and participation are an essential part of school life. We pride ourselves on our strong sense of family and community and believe that the dynamic partnership developed between staff and parents, based around open and constructive dialogue, underpins the energy and enthusiasm behind our children’s success, both in and out of the classroom.

SCHOOL - PARENT PARTNERSHIP
We fully recognize and value the essential part that parents play in their children’s education and believe very much in the idea of the greater school family and community. We therefore encourage and welcome parent involvement in school life, with both mums and dads participating in helping with school trips, listening to children reading, accompanying weekly swimming lessons and helping with cookery or craft activities.
We organize several family social activities throughout the year ranging from walks in the local woods to seasonal craft evenings, sponsored swims for local charities and festive Christmas celebrations. These events not only help to build the school community but are also aimed at raising money to support local or overseas charities. They are well-supported and much enjoyed and have the added benefit of creating and reinforcing valuable, and much needed support networks between parents outside of school.
Our weekly, in-school coffee mornings provide a regular point of contact for parents who are not working, or who decide to take a few hours off to catch up with news over coffee, tea and the essential biscuits! They are also an opportunity to swap recommendations and to borrow books from our Parent English-language library.
